"I have always been greatly impressed with your untiring dedication in your efforts to promote the quality teaching of the Thai language. In establishing the Thai Education Centre of Victoria you will have the opportunity to bring together all of the existing schools currently teaching Thai so that you can all move forward together gaining strength in numbers.
Some years ago it was possible to study the Thai language here in Melbourne at two of our leading Universities, sadly that is no longer the case. Now it is up to the Thais themselves to promote the Thai Language realising the importance of Thai children now living here to proudly maintain their identity.
For those non-Thais who chose to study the language, they learn so much more than language alone. Their involvement endears them to the Country and the people.
The current Victorian Minister for small business, innovation and trade the Hon Philip Dalidakis studied Thai at Monash University many years ago and is still passionate about Thailand. This presents the opportunity for HE Ambassador Chirachai and myself to exploit his passion for Thailand to promote better bilateral trade between Thailand and Victoria.
The importance of the Thai Education Centre of Victoria cannot be understated. May I wish you the success that you deserve with the Centre with the full support of the wonderful Thai Community here in Victoria. You can certainly be assured of my unqualified support in the future."
